In a radio interview with journalist Katerina Drakou, HIDDEN coordinator, Dr. Angelos Amditis highlighted the vital role of artificial intelligence (#AI) in preventing road accidents, noting that driver distraction is estimated to contribute to approximately 5% to 25% of road crashes in #Europe.
He also emphasized the promise of innovative solutions being developed by Greek research teams—particularly systems designed to detect driver drowsiness and distraction which have the potential to reduce accidents and ultimately save lives.
