On 21 October 2025, the HIDDEN-BERTHA–i4Driving–AITHENA–AI4CCAM Joint Workshop brought together experts from five Horizon Europe projects to exchange experiences and explore collaboration in the field of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM).
The workshop’s main objective was to provide a common forum for representatives from all projects to share insights, lessons learned and implementation challenges related to CCAM technologies.
During the discussions, representatives from BERTHA, i4Driving, AITHENA and AI4CCAM presented their work and experience on:
-
Behavioural models and trajectory prediction for vehicles and vulnerable road users (VRUs)
-
Simulation environments and their use for safety assessment and validation
-
Ethical and legal frameworks for automated vehicles, including alignment with the EU AI Act and type-approval processes
-
Explainable and hybrid intelligence to ensure human-aligned, transparent and trustworthy AV decision-making
These contributions are particularly valuable for the early stages of HIDDEN, helping to refine its requirements, guide its technical developments and ensure that its solutions build on – and complement – ongoing work in the wider CCAM community.
