
The 17th ITS European Congress takes place in Istanbul from 27 to 29 April 2026, under the overarching theme Bridging Innovation: Integrated, Safe and Seamless Mobility. HIDDEN will be present with two Special Interest Sessions, both falling under the thematic topic Safety and Resilience Through Intelligent Systems.
The first, Human-centric approaches for safer and more trustworthy CCAM (SIS 27, Tuesday 28 April, 11:45–12:45), is organised by ICCS as HIDDEN’s coordinator and brings together researchers from HIDDEN, CERTAIN, and AGGREGATE projects. HIDDEN will be represented by Evangelia Portouli (ICCS) alongside speakers Turkan Hentati (IDIADA, Spain) and Ibrahim Öztürk (University of Leeds). The session covers collective perception, V2X communication, and the human factors shaping trust and acceptance of automated vehicles.
The second, AI-based tools for situational awareness and traffic safety in Europe (SIS 56, Wednesday 29 April, 10:30–11:30), is organised by HIDDEN partner SAE International and moderated by Johanna Tzanidaki. HIDDEN will be represented by Vasilis Sourlas (ICCS) alongside speakers Kelvin Choi, Agnes Loder, Louison Duboz, and Nikolaos Tsampieris, focusing on multi-sensor data fusion, digital twins, and real-time cooperative awareness in mixed-traffic environments.
